Graham Earlem (Eilam) Steele was made bankrupt on 27th June 2016. This came after he lost a High Court action in London for defamation where over a period of time he systematically made in the words of the presiding Judge, Sir David Eady, "scurrilous statements about others under the cloak of anonymity" on various websites and twitter. According to the trustees report from Grant Thornton, Steele owed in excess of £300,000. Whilst now out of bankruptcy (it generally ends after 1 year) the trustees are still pursuing different avenues to recover any assets he has.
Steele has once again formed more limited companies, one being SSES (London) Ltd (company no. 10913091). Invoices have the VAT number 182 1069 22 which was registered to Graham Steele at 27 Kestrel Road, Waltham Abbey, Essex, EN9 3NB but is now registered to the above company with an address at 20-22 Wenlock Road, London, N1 7GU. This information is publicly available on this website.
Curiously, the above company uses RICS in the website domain, although not a member of RICS. There are plenty of great reviews on the site....all unverifiable and no independent Google reviews to be found anywhere. For example does anyone ever leave a review stating (in capitals) "HIS COMPANIES ACCOUNTS VERY REASSUSSING THAT WE WERE HIRING A LONG STANDING PROFESSIONAL ORGANISATION" (sic).
Graham Steele was also behind the 'Party Wall Surveyors Association' website. This should not be confused with any of the legitimate organisations and it now looks that this has disappeared from Google. Owners who have made the mistake of contacting his website have confirmed from a photograph of Steele that he has himself turned up using a pseudonym.
In March this year Graham Steele formed yet another company with the very similar sounding name SSE (London) Ltd (company number 15599640). All I would add is that you should be very careful exactly which company you are contracting with when you use his services.
One further piece of advice, if you think you are dealing with Jon Hicks BSc (Hons) then maybe ask for ID proof because all may not be as it seems! If on asking you receive a less than polite response, maybe you have your answer.
